Due to greater data rates and bandwidth expansion, fibre optic connector equipment and racks are becoming increasingly dense and difficult to access. Cramped communications closets, dense data centres, and tower installs make carrying and using traditional fibre optic connector inspection equipment difficult.
Built upon the successful Digital Inspector (DI-) product suite, Lightel has developed the DI-3000 embedded Wi-Fi and autofocus probe, eliminating the need for direct USB connectivity to display devices. The DI-3000 allows the user to effortlessly inspect, store, certify and analyse fibre optic connectors without a physical connection to your Android mobile device, PC, laptop, or other test equipment.
In addition to embedded Wi-Fi connectivity, the DI-3000 features rapid one-touch autofocus. When the focus is achieved, the unit’s vital indicator LED will change from red to green, saving time and simplifying the fibre optic inspection process. It also has a built-in flashlight, making things easier for technicians working in wiring closets or data centres with poor lighting. With its easily accessible capture button, capturing and saving images to your Android or Windows device is simple. Like all the DI Series scopes, the DI-3000 can use any of Lightel’s more than 120 tips.
